Who we are
Partnering with the community to assist the underserved .
The Social Matters Organization INC is a Tampa,FL based 501(c)(3) non-profit that started in 2020, during COVID, by delivering meals to families who had lost their income as a result of the pandemic. The organization went on to do monthly feeding the homeless events and community clean ups and has partnered with multiple local non profit organizations to do backpack/ school supply drives, community gatherings, clothing drives, and much more.
Our goal as an organization is to open a group home for youth in foster care to assist with the growing need of compassionate caretakers in the Tampa, FL area and beyond. We would also like to be a hub of resources for underserved individuals and provide them with opportunities to connect with others in hopes of assisting them in finding a supportive community.

Our Vision
Self-sufficiency within underserved populations.
We strive to provide individuals the tools they need in order to live a life that feels fulfilling to them. From information and social settings with others who can assist, to mental health , shelter and the opportunity to do what they desire without having to worry about economical setbacks. We hope to reach as many people as possible and show them the life they want is within reach.

Charelaine Betancourt Vega
Charelaine has a professional background in social services. She has worked in the fields of substance use, refugee resettlement, foster care and applied behavior analysis. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in behavioral healthcare and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work. Charelaine has been with The Social Matters Organization since it was opened.
Vice President
Isairis Betancourt Vega
Isairis has a professional background in hospitality, real estate, financial services and notary services. She owns and operates a business consulting business in Tampa, FL. Isairis has been with The Social Matters Organization since it was opened in 2020.
Secretary
Yaneisy Padrino
Yaneisy has a professional background in law and criminal justice. She is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor degree at Howard University School of Law. Yaneisy has been with The Social Matters Organization since 2021.
Treasurer
Felix Ortiz
Felix has a professional background in real estate and financial services. He is the owner of a transporting business in the state of Florida. Felix has been with The Social Matters Organization since 2021.
Director of Outreach
Chrystal Fernandes
Chrystal has a professional background in medical services. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic training from Florida State University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Athletic Training. Chrystal has been with The Social Matters Organization since 2023.
